Norsk Buddy is an AI-powered app. Explanations, translations and corrections may sometimes be incorrect or incomplete. Always verify important information with official sources. Do not rely on Norsk Buddy alone for legal, medical, financial or immigration decisions.

The app focuses on the Norwegian you actually use — at the shop, at the doctor, at work and in letters from public services. Everything is Bokmål.

How much is free?
You can start without an account. Each AI feature — conversation, understanding messages, help me reply, roleplay and practice — includes a set number of free uses, and the Life in Norway guides are always open. Creating a free account gives you a fresh allowance every month.
A good route for beginners
If you are starting from zero, follow the A1 material first: greetings, numbers, shopping and simple questions. Move to A2 once you can handle short exchanges, then use conversation practice to make it automatic.
- Week 1–2: A1 vocabulary and basic sentence order
- Week 3–4: short roleplays — bakery, small talk, appointments
- Ongoing: read one real Norwegian message a week and have it explained
Why speaking practice matters
Most learners in Norway understand more than they can say. Talking to an AI tutor is low-stakes: you can repeat, pause and make mistakes, and get a polished version of your sentence afterwards so you see exactly what to change.
